Alipay finally allows tourists to use its e-wallet in China!
Tourists can now use the new mini-program called Tour Pass, to add fund from international credit or debit card into the e-wallet for up to 90 days.
Minimum top-up is CNY100, and capped at CNY2,000.
After 90 days, the balance fund will be refunded to the origin card or bank account.
Since the introduction of e-wallet in China, cash payment has been pretty rare, some merchants even already stopped receiving cash at all.
Alipay and WeChat Pay are the major players in the e-wallet market in China, however, tourists are not able to use any of them, as these two require a China bank account.
